I’m Akalanka Panapitiya , currently interact as a Sri Lankan artist, music producer, researcher and UI/UX engineer. Growing up I had my primary and secondary education at Taxila Central College Horana as well as Ananda College Colombo. Currently I'm an undergraduate student of Faculty of Technology in University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
As a musician in Sri Lanka, I’m popular as an exponent of Sri Lankan folk music and incorporates traditional folk tunes in to my music.
Growing up in a family of musicians,music has always been a prominent part of my life. Under the guidance of my loving father Dr. Saman Panapitiya who is the Dean of the Music Faculty University of Visual Performing and Arts.I have been working in Sri Lankan music industry for many years and I'm blessed to have the opportunity to expand my work not only with Sri Lankan artists but also with international musicians.
Music has always been one of my main interests and passions and I have always strived to learn and develop my skills and understanding of music as much as possible in my free time. I have been awarded and appreciated for the contribution on folk music in Sri Lanka.
Apart from that I am also keen on user experience with insights and behavior in the IT field which helps to understand a persons interaction with a system and the positive impact.
Overall, my aim in life is to become a well balanced person in both music as well as the IT sector and to become a goal oriented person in my life.
